Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, Ian Borg, has outlined a strategic vision for the country’s tourism sector, emphasising a shift towards quality, sustainability, and luxury offerings in line with international trends.
According to Travel and Tour World, Borg made these remarks during a visit to the Noru Hotel in St Julian’s. He highlighted the importance of transitioning from high visitor numbers to a model focused on higher value-added tourism, aiming to increase per capita tourist expenditure and improve service standards.
The government is collaborating with key industry stakeholders to enhance the experience for both residents and visitors, ensuring that Malta remains a competitive and sustainable destination in the years ahead.
