The European Urban Initiative (EUI) is accepting applications for its City-to-City Exchanges programme, supporting urban authorities across the EU in sharing knowledge and best practices on sustainable urban development.
Open to all EU cities, with a focus on those under 500,000 inhabitants and regions undergoing economic, social, or environmental transition towards more sustainable urban models. The programme facilitates short-term visits (two to five days) between cities tackling similar challenges, allowing representatives to engage in peer learning, gain practical insights, and co-develop solutions tailored to their specific urban contexts. Participants can explore topics such as green infrastructure, affordable housing, circular economy strategies, and inclusive urban planning.
Since its launch in April 2023, the initiative has approved 40 exchanges, with a success rate of over 85%. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with approvals granted within a month. Cities interested in participating can submit their applications at any time.
For more details and to apply, visit the EUI website.
