Portugal is expected to reach EUR 27 billion in tourism revenue by the end of 2024, with a projected growth of 9% in 2025, according to Pedro Machado, the Secretary of State for Tourism. This growth reflects the increasing global demand for travel, with the number of travellers rising significantly over the past few decades. However, Machado also highlighted the challenges that come with this growth, such as the need for skilled labour, the digital transformation of businesses, the training of immigrants, and sustainable resource management. Therefore, the focus should be on addressing these challenges to prepare for growth and enhance the country's appeal (The original piece available only in Portuguese).
