Gralo, Serbia’s first circular rural tourism and agricultural estate, has installed a wastewater treatment facility for its accommodation units. The project is supported by the Swiss Government through the "EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia" initiative.

According to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the facility treats over 3 million litres of wastewater annually. This treated water is reused to irrigate green areas and cultivate energy willows, which are used for pellet heating. The system helps Gralo conserve fresh water, reduce fossil fuel consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and align with circular economy principles.

This upgrade is one of 89 green transition solutions supported by the initiative.
