The 19th edition of the Textile European Technology Platform (ETP) Annual Conference convened over 260 professionals from across the textile value chain in Alcoy, Spain, from 12-14 May 2025.    

Attendees gained insights into how fundamental research translates into industrial innovation. The conference featured a series of plenary sessions, panel discussions, and breakout workshops addressing the intersection of innovation, regulation, and sustainability in the textile sector. Key topics included the implementation of the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, advancements in digital product passports, and the role of eco-design in promoting sustainable textile products. Speakers from the industry, academia, and policy-making bodies shared insights on navigating the complexities of regulatory compliance while fostering innovation.  

Emphasising the importance of collaboration, the conference facilitated networking opportunities among stakeholders to drive collective action towards a sustainable and competitive European textile industry. Discussions highlighted the need for continued investment in research and development, education and training, and the adoption of digital technologies to enhance the sector’s resilience and global competitiveness.
