Aspirational objective 1: Healthy, balanced, and sustainable diets for all European consumers, thereby contributing to:
1) Reversing malnutrition and diet-related noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in the EU.
2) Reducing the environmental footprint of food consumption by 2030.
With the following aspirational targets:
a) Improved food consumption patterns in the EU.
b) A food environment that makes it easier to choose healthy and sustainable diets.
Pepsico commitments:
PepsiCo commits to reducing the average level of added sugar in our EU soft drinks portfolio by 25% by 2025, and 50% by 2030. This pledge is in line with the company’s global sugar reduction goal.
PepsiCo commits to building a $500 million “healthier snacking” business in the EU by 2025, with products that would be compliant with a Nutri-Score B definition or better. Our ambition is to grow that part of our business to $1 billion by 2030. PepsiCo also commits to transforming our snacks that currently rate D or E in Nutri-Score to be compliant with a C classification or better. Our ambition is to grow that part of our business to $400 million by 2025, and to $500 million by 2030.
Aspirational objective 4: An optimised circular and resource-efficient food chain in Europe
With the following aspirational targets:
a) Improved resource efficiency within own operations, contributing to sustainable, efficient use and management of energy and natural resources in operations by 2030.
b) Improved sustainability of food and drink packaging, striving for all packaging towards circularity by 2030.
Pepsico commitments:
PepsiCo commits to convert to 100% rPET for brand Pepsi bottles in 9 EU markets by the end of 2022.
