Actions to take:
ECF commits to share best practices and analyses on national cycling strategies, including EuroVelo, and to explore how to include cycling tourism in future analyses.

ECF also commits to promote initiatives aiming at addressing comprehensive cycling tourism strategies, whether they be integrated in broader tourism or mobility strategies, or developed specifically. This would aim to encourage all European countries to develop such plans to support sustainable tourism in line with the European Declaration on cycling from the European institutions to be formally adopted in 2024.

EuroVelo Communications channels (website and social media), flagship events Velo-city and EuroVelo & Cycling Tourism Conference and the network of National EuroVelo Coordination Centres (NECCs), involving most of the time ministry representatives, would support the reach of best practices sharing. ECF is also involved in international groups such as the Sustainable Tourism Mobility working group of THE PEP and the Active Mobility group of THE PEP or the group of experts on cycling infrastructure of UNECE to promote best practices and European relevant tools to support Member States.

Concrete actions:
- Publication of the annual report on National Cycling Strategies
- Participation in THE PEP working groups on Active Mobility and Sustainable Tourism Mobility
- 1 national good practice of cycling tourism strategy published on Pro.EuroVelo.com a year
- 2 National EuroVelo Coordination Centres Online Workshop organised a year to promote good practices covered by comprehensive cycling tourism strategies

Target for 2025 or 2030:
For 2025:
- +25% of countries having a national cycling strategy in place compared to 2021
- +25% of European countries having a national cycle route network
- Good practices of national cycling tourism strategies shared via the EuroVelo network (events, website, newsletters)
For 2030:
- 100% of national cycling strategies mentioning EuroVelo and cycling tourism
- 100% of European countries having a national cycle route network
