Open Tourism Lab contributes to this topic by supporting collaborative projects between startup and destinations ; particularly in the use of big data and artificial intelligence to monitor territorial strategies for more sustainable tourism.
Due to a strong ecosystem in space and satellite technologies (Toulouse - in Occitanie Region), Open Tourisme Lab is working on the integration of satellite data into new dashboard applications for monitoring environmental indicators. For the future and by the year 2030 we expect to prototype and test on 3 experimental sites a tool for observing the state of environmental health of tourist destinations (linked to natural sites) and attendance”, which can serve as a decision aid for predictive regulation of attendance
