The European Commission supports cross-industry and sectoral social dialogue as a core component of EU social policy, bringing together employers’ and workers’ organisations to shape employment and working conditions across sectors. These dialogues contribute to fairer labour markets and stronger social cohesion.
There are currently 44 Sectoral Social Dialogue Committees, covering industries such as textiles, agriculture, and construction. These committees facilitate structured dialogue and promote agreements that help align sectoral priorities with EU social and employment strategies.
For more information, please visit the Cross-industry and Sectoral Social Dialogue page.
