The European Commission’s Green Deal Industrial Plan, introduced in February 2023, aims to bolster the EU’s manufacturing capacity for net-zero technologies and products. This initiative is pivotal in achieving Europe’s climate targets by creating a predictable and simplified regulatory environment, thereby encouraging investments and fostering the development of clean technologies.
Central to the plan are legislative measures like the Critical Raw Materials Act and the Net-Zero Industry Act, adopted in 2024. These acts are designed to streamline regulations, support the scaling up of manufacturing capacities, and enhance the competitiveness of the EU’s net-zero technology industry.
