On 13 May 2025, the European Commission’s Pact for Skills published an overview of the newly established EURADRIA Regional Skills Partnership, aimed at tackling labour mobility and skills challenges in the cross-border region between Italy and Slovenia. The region, home to a high concentration of SMEs, faces persistent issues such as mismatched qualifications, regulatory differences, and limited access to upskilling and reskilling opportunities. The partnership will focus on strengthening internal coordination, collecting cross-border labour data, and standardising practices to better support employers and jobseekers.

The initiative also sets out a comprehensive ambition to enhance cross-border services, improve digital access to training resources, and involve SMEs directly in identifying and addressing skills gaps. Key actions include developing a shared skills intelligence framework, engaging employers in curriculum design, and promoting sector-specific skills integration. By fostering collaboration among public and private stakeholders, the partnership aims to build a more resilient and inclusive labour market aligned with EU goals for lifelong learning and workforce adaptability.
