The Sustainability Plan outlines a comprehensive strategy to enhance the sustainability of tourism in Flanders. It focuses on six main topics, such as inclusiveness and accessibility, transport, communication and access to information, sustainability of the tourism offer and events, liveability, and reduction of greenhouse gases. The plan includes specific goals for 2030, such as increasing the number of Green Key labels by 44%, achieving a 50% reduction in emissions from tourist accommodations, and reducing primary energy consumption by 35% in their own operations. It also emphasizes the importance of collaboration with stakeholders and continuous improvement to adapt to evolving sustainability challenges.
