The GreenPlay project, a two-year initiative funded by the Erasmus+ programme, launched on 1 June 2024. Its aim is to integrate sports with sustainability efforts by encouraging communities to engage in eco-friendly and inclusive sports activities. Led by ASD Sport Compass in Italy, the project focuses on promoting sustainable tourism through sports, developing educational materials on sustainable practices and microplastic awareness, and enhancing cross-cultural exchange and collaboration among organisations worldwide dedicated to sports and sustainable tourism. A key anticipated outcome of the project is the creation of a toolkit designed to encapsulate and disseminate the knowledge and practices developed throughout its duration.
