The HERIT ADAPT project, funded by the Interreg Euro-MED programme, will last for 33 months, starting in 2024, and aims to enhance the resilience of heritage sites and territories through sustainable tourism, climate change adaptation, and citizen engagement. By activating interdisciplinary Territorial Working Groups, the project will co-design a data-driven Sustainable Tourism Model to be tested in eight pilot regions, including UNESCO sites and lesser-known monuments. The anticipated outcome is a comprehensive framework that promotes sustainable tourism practices while protecting cultural heritage and addressing climate risks.
