The EU-funded POCITYF project, launched on October 1, 2019, brings together 46 partners from 13 countries to focus on smart cities and renewable energy integration. The project plans to establish positive energy blocks in the lighthouse cities of the Netherlands and Portugal, as well as their partner cities in Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, and Spain. The goal of the project is to revitalize these cities’ diverse urban landscapes, particularly those with cultural and historical protected areas, making them healthier, more accessible, reliable, and competitive for their residents.  Scheduled to conclude on September 30, 2024, POCITYF supports Europe’s ambition to become the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050.
