The StarGrowth project aims to enhance the sustainable growth and competitiveness of rural tourism and ecotourism SMEs across six European countries by providing tailored technical and financial support, fostering innovation, and promoting knowledge exchange between 2023 and 2025.

The StarGrowth project (Sustainable Tools & Activities for Rural Tourism and Ecotourism SME Growth), co-funded by the European Union under the COSME programme, aims to enhance the sustainable development and competitiveness of SMEs in the rural tourism and ecotourism sectors across Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Romania, and Italy. Running from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2025, the initiative will support 90 SMEs by providing both technical and financial assistance tailored to improve business performance and scalability.
The project focuses on:
- Capacity building and technical support through sustainability frameworks and tools
- Promoting innovative practices and solutions
- Establishing mechanisms for sharing best practices and disseminating transferable knowledge among SMEs, including at the European level
Ultimately, StarGrowth seeks to foster the adoption of sustainable and innovative approaches among tourism SMEs through strategic development, technology integration, skills enhancement, and knowledge exchange—particularly in the areas of digital transformation and environmental sustainability.
