The TES 3 project, funded by the International Union of Railways, aims to improve energy efficiency in train operations by enhancing traction energy settlement and data exchange. Coordinated by the Rail System Forum, it focuses on operational issues, implementation and development of the IRS 90930 standard. Running from January 2024 to December 2026, the initiative highlights the creation of Energy Metering Systems (EMS) and efficient energy invoicing, with expected outcomes of better energy monitoring and reduced billing conflicts.
