Between March 2023 and May 2027, six European cities and regions, including Amsterdam, Krakow, Tallinn, Andalucia/Sevilla, Rome, and Brasov, are collaborating to address issues of overtourism exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Guided by Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), they aim to develop policies and strategies for more equitable tourism distribution, leveraging the unique offerings of each area while minimizing negative impacts. By enhancing local and regional strategies, they aspire to create a more sustainable and balanced tourism industry that supports communities and protects the environment, serving as a model for other destinations facing similar challenges.
