The 2nd International Conference on the Circular Economy – Pathway towards sustainable development aims to promote the circular economy and raise awareness across all disciplines, fields, and sectors. Taking place in Chania, Crete, on 17-19 September 2025, the conference offers a platform for international actors to engage in meaningful dialogue, share the latest developments, and showcase solutions that support the transition to a more sustainable and circular economy.
The event will explore three broad thematic areas: business, circular economy, and sustainability; industrial ecology and circular economy; and circular economy policies at global, regional, and national levels. These themes encompass a wide range of subtopics including circular business models, industrial symbiosis, and the circular bioeconomy.
Keynote addresses will be delivered by Julian Kirchherr (Roskilde University), Simos Malamis (National Technical University of Athens), and Georgios Arampatzis (Technical University of Crete). Participants are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations.
Organised by the Hellenic Society for Circular Economy (HSCE) in collaboration with the International Society for Circular Economy, Springer, the Technical University of Crete, and the Democritus University of Thrace, the event will be held in English and in person.
