This module introduces the fundamentals of robotics, including robot types, mechanisms, history, and textile-specific applications. Learners explore existing robotized processes, their advantages and disadvantages, and future opportunities for robotization.

📚 Learners will know:

  • different robots and operating mechanisms
  • applications of robotics in textiles
  • which processes are already robotized
  • which processes could be robotized in the future

🎯 Learners will be able to:

  • handle robots safely
  • respond to malfunctions
  • assess whether a process should be robotized
  • develop a basic methodology for robotization
