The European Commission has approved more than €358 million in funding for 132 new projects across Europe under the LIFE Programme, part of its drive to support a cleaner, more sustainable future.
The grants will support initiatives in the environmental and climate action space, including restoration, pollution prevention, resource efficiency, and nature conservation. Several selected projects also address sector-specific challenges, including efforts related to safer materials and processes used in packaging and textiles, contributing to reduced chemical use and circularity in these value chains.
This boost highlights the EU’s commitment to scaling up its investments in climate and environmental resilience. The funding is also aligned with its broader clean transition objectives, including efforts under the European Green Deal to foster sustainable development across multiple sectors, where relevant innovations can support greener production and reduced environmental impact.
