The European Commission has opened a ‘Call for Evidence on its forthcoming Advanced Materials Act (AMA)’, inviting stakeholders to submit feedback until 13 January 2026.
Advanced materials described as materials with enhanced structural or functional properties, such as bio-based insulators or recyclable carbon-reinforced plastics are identified as key to supporting a more sustainable, competitive and circular industry in the EU. The AMA is expected to address current gaps in development, production and market uptake of these materials.
The consultation will gather evidence on the EU’s research & innovation (R&I) ecosystem for advanced materials and explore how to boost competitiveness and industrial readiness. Outcomes from the consultation will guide the Commission’s next steps in shaping the legislative initiative.
