EIM will continue scaling the use of a common, standardized methodology for measuring and comparing the environmental performance of textile products. The platform uses primary production data to assess impacts related to water, energy, chemicals, and workers’ health, and has expanded from garment finishing to an interconnected system covering yarn, fabric, chemicals, and finished garments. EIM is currently used by more than 100 brands and 500 suppliers across more than 40 countries. By 2030, EIM commits to expanding the adoption of its standardized environmental-impact methodology to at least 250 brands and 1,000 suppliers in at least 50 countries, supporting the wider use of comparable, primary-data-based environmental information across the textile value chain.
Targets and indicators:
- Baseline (2026): more than 40 brands and 400 suppliers using EIM in more than 40 countries.
- Interim target (end of 2028): at least 100 brands and 750 suppliers.
- Final target (end of 2030): at least 150 brands and 1,000 suppliers in at least 50 countries.
Progress indicators (reported annually): number of active brands; number of active suppliers; number of countries; number of products measured with EIM; share of assessments based on primary production data; value-chain stages covered (yarn, fabric, chemicals, finished garments).
