ReHubs Europe, launched in late 2023, has now established itself as a an stand-alone, Brussels-based non-profit initiative dedicated to accelerating circularity within the European textile industry. Supported by a coalition of more than 30 stakeholders (including fashion brands, textile manufacturers, waste collectors, and recyclers) the initiative maintains the ambitious target of processing 2.5 million tonnes of textile waste by 2030.
However, considering the difficult market conditions and regulatory uncertainty, ReHubs is adapting its focus somehow, putting more focus on access to finance and developing a strategic roadmap for textile recycling in Europe. Although ReHubs operates autonomously, EURATEX continues to play a strategic governance role through representation on its Board of Directors, ensuring that the initiative remains closely aligned with broader industry objectives and policy developments.
Furthermore, EURATEX is also contributing to other EU-funded innovation initiatives that reinforce its strategic objectives in circularity and regional development. Under the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) instrument, the RegioGreenTex project is establishing five regional textile recycling hubs in key manufacturing areas, complementing the industrial vision behind ReHubs Europe. In parallel, through its involvement in CISUTAC, EURATEX supports the development and deployment of advanced textile circularity technologies.
