STFI commits to accelerate digitalisation in the textiles ecosystem by expanding applied research and demonstration projects that help companies adopt digital textile technologies and data-driven production methods, including AI-enabled process optimisation, RFID-based traceability, automation/robotics and related digital quality approaches. STFI will collaborate with industrial partners to test and validate digital solutions under realistic conditions, translate them into transferable methods and recommendations, and support uptake through its innovation-transfer and testing expertise to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency and strengthen competitiveness. By 2030, STFI will implement at least 5 digital textile demonstrators or pilot use-cases with companies (with a focus on AI-enabled process optimisation, RFID/traceability solutions, and automation/robotics), and will publish at least 10 transfer-oriented outputs (e.g., validated testing/assessment approaches, demonstrator reports, or implementation guidance) that support replication by SMEs.
