Next progression check date:

STFI commits to strengthen circularity in the EU textiles ecosystem by continuing to develop, validate and scale textile recycling processes and material pathways that enable higher recycled input shares in industrial textile applications. Building on its applied R&D, testing and technology-transfer capacities, STFI will work with value-chain partners to optimise recycling routes, qualify recycled fibres and materials against performance and safety requirements, and translate results into industry-ready solutions and guidance that support implementation at pilot and pre-industrial scale.  By 2030, STFI will deliver at least 15 industry-facing outcomes that increase the feasibility and uptake of recycled textile inputs, including a minimum of 5 newly developed or significantly optimised recycling/processing routes and at least 3 pilot or demonstrator collaborations with value-chain partners that validate recycled fibres/materials against performance and safety requirements for industrial applications.
