The EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles presents both a comprehensive approach and a forward-looking, practical set of actions to create a greener, more competitive textiles sector.

It recognises that textiles are woven into every aspect of daily life - not only in fashion and apparel, but also across our built environment: from homes and workplaces to healthcare settings, manufacturing sites, transport interiors, and protective equipment; and that urgent action is needed as their impact on the environment continues to grow. Thus, the Strategy looks at the entire lifecycle of textile products and proposes coordinated actions to change how we produce and consume textiles.

The EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles builds on the European Green Deal, drawing from initiatives such as the Circular Economy Action Plan and the European Industrial Strategy.
