On 10 July 2025, the PANTOUR project spotlighted the InOut Hostel as the first hotel in Europe where 90% of the staff are individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Established by the non-profit organisation Icària Iniciatives Socials as a special employment centre, the hostel offers 250 private and shared dormitories for tourists and has been operating for 20 years. It exemplifies the successful integration of people with disabilities into the tourism sector under standard employment conditions. Staff members receive role-specific professional training across departments such as reception, housekeeping, restaurant services, and maintenance. The effectiveness of this model is reflected in positive customer ratings and reviews.
