According to Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute, accommodation establishments recorded 3.69 million overnight stays in June 2026, down 3.6% year-on-year, while arrivals fell by 3.1%. Despite the decline in visitor volume, revenue from overnight stays rose by 13.6% to €198 million, including €138.9 million from foreign guests.
Four- and five-star establishments accounted for nearly 80% of overnight stays by non-residents and recorded the highest occupancy rate. Burgas and Varna remained the country’s leading tourism districts, together accounting for around two-thirds of all overnight stays.
