According to Eurostat, in the first quarter of 2024, the EU saw a 7% increase in overnight stays in tourist accommodations, totaling 452.6 million. Foreign visitors made up about 45% of these stays, with Malta, Cyprus, Luxembourg, and Austria having the highest shares. The increase in nights spent by foreign visitors (+11%) was more significant than the increase in domestic stays (+4%). Cyprus, Croatia, Malta, and Luxembourg experienced the largest increases in foreign overnight stays, while Lithuania, Poland, and Greece had the smallest increases.
