Greece typically experiences a surge in domestic air arrivals during the summer and early autumn months. In 2023, these months saw the highest number of domestic air arrivals since 2016. July marked a significant peak with 1.2 million arrivals, which is a 10.8% increase compared to July 2018. The consistent rise in domestic air arrivals throughout nearly every month of 2023, as compared to figures since 2016, indicates a robust recovery of the tourism sector from the pandemic’s impact. This trend also highlights the preferred travel periods for domestic tourists.
