In May 2024, the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria reported that visitors from abroad had various purposes for visiting the country. The majority of trips were for guests, transit, and other purposes (47.9% of all trips), followed by holiday and recreation purposes (38.2%). Among international tourists, the highest demand came from Romania (22.3% of all trips) and Turkey (17.3%).
