Seasonality remains one of the most persistent challenges for tourism destinations across Europe, particularly in northern and coastal regions. The upcoming webinar Turning the Off-Season into New Opportunities invites destination professionals to rethink the quieter months as a strategic asset rather than a limitation. The session focuses on how off-season tourism can generate new value for regions, strengthen local economies and create more resilient tourism ecosystems.

Designed specifically for DMOs and BSOs in the Baltic Sea Region, the webinar will showcase concrete solutions developed through the Light in the Dark project. These include communication tools, campaign concepts and practical examples that destinations can adapt and implement locally. The emphasis is on supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs in developing off-season offers that are attractive, authentic, and aligned with regional identity.

Participants will gain insights into how destinations can use storytelling, niche experiences and targeted promotion to increase visibility during low-demand periods. By diversifying tourism products and spreading visitor flows more evenly throughout the year, regions can reduce pressure during peak seasons while improving economic stability and employment continuity.

The webinar will take place online on 20 January, 15:00–16:30 (EET) and will be held in English. It is free of charge and open to DMOs and BSOs across the Baltic Sea Region. Those unable to attend live are encouraged to register, as the recording will be shared with all participants after the event.

By focusing on practical application and transferable tools, the webinar aims to empower destinations to turn the off-season into a time of innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth.
