Digital technologies increasingly influence every stage of the tourism experience, driven by two decades of continuous innovation in Europe’s travel tech sector. Europe’s digital strength is underpinned by innovative companies, supported by investors, incubators, public initiatives and a comprehensive EU regulatory framework (DSA, DMA, AI Act, Data Act, DGA). AI is now accelerating this transformation, creating new opportunities for innovative European start-ups while also posing strategic challenges for Europe’s position in the global travel tech landscape.
This webinar will explore the evolution of travel technology in Europe, the impact of AI on the sector, and how the EU and Member States can continue fostering a competitive and innovative digital travel ecosystem. It will also highlight key opportunities and challenges ahead, showcasing how collaboration between industry, policymakers and ecosystem enablers can drive Europe’s leadership in travel tech.
The webinar will be moderated by Dolores Ordoñez, Co chair of the Digital T4T subgroup, featuring contributions from representatives of start ups, SMEs, large companies, innovation hubs, VC funds, institutional partners, and the European Commission.
Agenda Highlights:
Session 1 “From Start up to Scale up: Lessons from Europe’s Travel Tech Ecosystem” will explore how European travel tech companies have built, scaled and competed in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Representatives from the travel tech ecosystem will discuss the key challenges, success factors, available support frameworks that shape growth opportunities.
Session 2 “Empowering Travel Tech Innovation: The Role of Ecosystem Enablers” will focus on how ecosystem enablers, such as incubators, innovation hubs and institutional partners, support innovation in travel tech. Speakers will highlight the practical mechanisms for nurturing start-ups and SMEs, fostering collaboration and strengthening Europe’s travel tech ecosystem.
Stay tuned for more details and the Final Agenda!
