The European Commission has launched a call for proposals under the Horizon Europe programme titled “Innovative Approaches to Intangible Cultural Heritage for Societal Resilience.” This initiative aims to support interdisciplinary projects that explore how living cultural practices can strengthen communities facing societal challenges such as climate change, migration, and conflict.
Eligible applicants include universities, research institutions, public bodies, NGOs, and private entities from EU Member States and associated countries.
Selected projects may receive up to EUR 4 million each, with a total budget of EUR 12 million, to develop innovative safeguarding strategies, digital tools, and participatory models that enhance the role of intangible cultural heritage in resilience planning.
Proposals should actively involve communities and promote inclusive, sustainable practices that respect cultural diversity and human rights.
The call follows a two-stage application process, with the final deadline set for 16 September 2025 at 17:00 (Brussels time).
