In November 2024, the City of Bruges introduced an updated Sustainable Food Strategy named "Bruges Tastes Like More," expanding its initial 2015 initiative "Bruges Smaakt." This strategy emphasizes a transformative approach towards healthier, sustainable food systems focused on plant-based diets, local and organic produce, and minimizing food waste. Built on four key pillars — health, respect, taste, and connectedness — it not only benefits the locals but also strengthens Bruges' standing as a global culinary destination. By fostering excellence in food experiences aligned with sustainable practices, the strategy aids in realizing the city’s tourism and ecological ambitions, inviting visitors to savor the authentic taste of Bruges.
