The transition towards regenerative tourism is gaining strong momentum across Europe—and the Baltic Sea Region is increasingly positioning itself at the forefront of this shift. On 3 June 2026 (09:00–10:30 CET), an international webinar will bring together destinations, tourism organisations and experts to explore how this transition can move from vision to concrete implementation.
Titled “You are the changemakers – together, we are the movement towards regenerative tourism in the Baltic Sea Region,” the webinar reflects a growing recognition that real change in tourism depends on collaboration, shared responsibility and practical action.
Organised by the EUSBSR Policy Area Tourism Coordinators together with the RegenT platform, the session aims to connect stakeholders across countries and sectors. It offers a space not only for inspiration but also for exchanging concrete tools, experiences, and solutions that can be applied in everyday tourism development. A key highlight of the webinar will be the keynote by Linda Vismer, a leading Swedish voice in sustainable and regenerative tourism, keynote speaker and strategic advisor. Through her work across destinations, organisations and networks, she supports the development of places where both visitors and local communities can truly thrive.
As the founder of Resamedvetet.se and author of “Resenärens makt”, Linda promotes more conscious travel choices and emphasises tourism's role as a force for positive change. Her approach combines strong values, collaborative leadership and a clear vision: tourism that gives back more than it takes.
The webinar will also feature contributions from projects and practitioners working on regenerative approaches in the Baltic Sea Region and beyond. Participants will gain insights into how destinations are already implementing new models—focusing on community wellbeing, environmental regeneration and more meaningful visitor experiences. Importantly, the session is designed to move beyond theory. It will explore how tourism stakeholders can take practical steps towards regeneration, whether through destination management, product development or stakeholder engagement. This reflects a broader shift in tourism across Europe—from minimising negative impacts to actively creating positive ones.
The event is open to all: tourism companies, destination management organisations, public authorities and all those interested in shaping the future of tourism. It also marks an important step in building a stronger network of regenerative tourism practitioners across the Baltic Sea Region and beyond. As the sector faces increasing challenges—from climate change to changing traveller expectations—initiatives like this webinar play a crucial role. They help translate emerging concepts into tangible action and connect those ready to lead this transformation. Finally, the message of the event is clear: regenerative tourism is not a distant ambition, but a movement already underway—and its success depends on the people willing to shape it together.
