Regional strategy for sustainable development has been approved with Regional Government Resolution n. 60 of 29/01/21. The Sector takes part in an interdepartmental Working Group for the National and Regional Strategy for Sustainable Development (SRSvS). In the process of constructing the regional strategy tourism has been identified as one of the sectors most affected by climate changes.
The Regional Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change (SRACC) has been approved with Regional Government Resolution no. 18 of 20 January 2023. For tourism, the strategic objectives of adaptation indicated are to adapt tourist offer to changed climatic conditions and to the unavailability of traditional tourist attractions and to reduce the impacts through interventions of diversification and seasonal adjustment of the tourist offer that does not compromise the image of the destination.
Regional Sustainable Development Strategy is currently under revision to update it with the new national strategy and to maintain appropriate indicators. For tourism, the concept of regenerative tourism will be emphasized, a new perspective that, going beyond the concept of sustainability, aims to bring positive effects to the region, not simply avoid harm.
