Organised by the Provincial Deputation of Teruel and the Comarca de Gúdar-Javalambre as part of MedSkyTour, an Interreg Euro-MED 2021-2027 project, the free sessions were held on 4 and 16 September 2026 at the Comarca's headquarters in Mora de Rubielos. The first session, aimed at municipal technicians and tourism businesses, covered light pollution and energy efficiency, presenting guidelines from the Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving to an audience of thirteen representatives from tourism offices, rural accommodation providers and other local stakeholders. The second session addressed astrotourism and the impact of night lighting on wildlife.

Antonio Abad, the Provincial Deputation's deputy for European Programmes, described Teruel's dark skies as a potential development lever for the province, provided local knowledge and skills are built up to add value to the resource. MedSkyTour runs for 33 months from 2025 to 2027, with partners in Slovenia, Croatia, Portugal, Montenegro, Italy and Greece, positioning the Comarca de Gúdar-Javalambre as a reference point for dark-sky tourism development across the Mediterranean.
