The 2026 edition focuses on three areas: safe food practices, covering label reading and safe handling and storage; food and health, explaining balanced diets and health claims; and what's in your food, addressing additives, flavourings, novel foods and allergen labelling. The campaign runs at both EU and national level throughout the year, with country-specific toolkits, press materials and social media content available to partners.
Beyond raising awareness, the 2025 results showed the campaign strengthened public trust in the EU's food safety system, with people exposed to Safe2Eat reporting more critical engagement with their food choices.
