Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1700, published in the Official Journal on 15 July 2026, amends the rules for simple programmes under Regulation (EU) No 1144/2014 on information and promotion measures for agricultural products. The new rules give Member States 180 calendar days to conclude contracts with selected proposing organisations, increase the maximum advance payment to 30% of the maximum Union financial contribution, and streamline notification duties by distinguishing annual reporting on payments and checks from later reporting on programme impact. The Regulation does not apply to contracts for simple programmes concluded before 1 December 2026 and enters into force on the seventh day after publication. For agri-food stakeholders, the changes may ease implementation and reduce administrative burden in EU promotion programmes.
