Genusskoarl's commitment
At Genusskoarl, we produce organic fermented seasoning sauces using 100% Austrian raw materials - free from additives, handcrafted with care, and with a strong commitment to sustainability. Joining the Code of Conduct reflects our deep belief that sustainable food systems require collaboration, transparency, and responsibility across the entire value chain. Our business is built on honesty, respect for nature, and the principle of doing more with less — fewer ingredients, no artificial substances, and short supply chains.
We already align our practices with many of the Code's key ambitions: from supporting healthy and sustainable diets to reducing our ecological footprint and fostering regional, sustainable sourcing. By becoming a signatory, we aim to contribute to and learn from a Europe-wide movement that shares our vision of a future-proof food system — one that benefits people, the environment, and local economies alike.

4. Improving resource-efficiency within operations
At Genusskoarl, we continuously strive to optimize resource-efficiency in our production processes. Our small-scale fermentation facility relies on energy-saving equipment and processes, and we prioritize manual production steps that minimize energy and water consumption. We source all our raw materials from Austrian organic farms, many of them locally, to reduce transport emissions. Packaging is kept minimal, recyclable, and we actively explore new solutions for more sustainable packaging materials. By working with short supply chains and limiting waste at every stage of production, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint year by year.
1.2 A food environment that makes it easier to choose healthy and sustainable diets
Our mission is to help people eat better — with fewer ingredients, more natural flavor, and no additives. We create fermented seasoning sauces that make plant-based meals more flavorful and accessible, encouraging home cooking and healthier choices. Through transparent product labelling, recipe inspiration, and engaging communication on social media, we promote the benefits of sustainable and healthy eating. By educating consumers on how to use our products to enhance nutritious meals, we actively contribute to building a food environment that supports better dietary choices.
