To mark World Food Safety Day, the HOLiFOOD project is launching a digital campaign that explores how climate change may influence food safety risks across the food chain. The initiative brings together six influencers from across Europe to translate scientific evidence into accessible and engaging content for wider audiences.
Through videos, explainers, and myth-busting posts shared on Instagram and YouTube, the campaign will address issues such as the impact of warmer temperatures on foodborne bacteria, the effect of extreme weather on toxins in crops, and the tools researchers are developing to detect emerging risks earlier. The campaign will reach audiences in several countries and languages, reflecting the diversity of food cultures and digital conversations across Europe.
By combining scientific expertise with trusted digital voices, the initiative also responds to growing concern about misinformation related to food, health, and climate. It highlights the value of clear, evidence-based communication in helping consumers better understand emerging food safety challenges.
