The fourth meeting of the Proximity and Social Economy Large Scale Partnership (LSP) took place on 25 November 2025, from 15:30 to 17:00, focusing on reviewing progress and setting future priorities. Over the past six months, the LSP has been mapping its members and establishing connections with other LSPs in the Health ecosystem, Creative and Cultural Industries, and Digital sectors, as part of the broader Pact for Skills. Other recent activities were shared, with specific reference to the LSP’s declaration, which features clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and is structured around five pillars: strengthening the partnership, mapping the state of the art of skills, improving skills intelligence, knowledge sharing and dissemination, and supporting upskilling and reskilling activities.
The LSP currently has around 210 members, making it the largest in the Pact for Skills. Efforts to engage new stakeholders are ongoing, with steady membership growth. A geographical representation map of the members was showcased, and new members were introduced.
Two new working groups were recently launched, focusing on the areas of funding and skills intelligence. The funding group aims to understand members' challenges with accessing funding and plans to build a database and map existing funding sources, while the skills intelligence group aims to determine the current state of skills, identify necessary trainings, and assess upskilling and reskilling levels in the ecosystem.
During the meeting, presentations were made by several key projects related to proximity or social economy, for example:
- B-WISE presented its policy recommendations and the establishment of a European alliance, along with a universal training curriculum for workers with support needs.
- The BaSE Project showcased a Blueprint for Advanced Skills and Trainings in the Social Economy which aims to address skills mismatches and has developed national reports, a sustainable business model, and 10 competence-based curricula.
- The European Social Innovation Campus (ESIC) Project presented its focus on identifying needs and mismatches in the social economy, with a recent development of a competence profile.
The launch of the EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform was announced, encouraging all organisations to join and become Ambassadors to promote it within their networks.
In conclusion, the meeting underscored the LSP's ongoing efforts and future plans, emphasising collaboration, skills development, and strategic growth within the ecosystem. The commitment to strengthening partnerships, improving skills intelligence, and supporting upskilling and reskilling activities remains central to the LSP's agenda.
