Between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2021, the Province of South Holland's Program Space was a strategic policy instrument within the Vision Spatiality and Mobility program, supported by Interreg Europe. It translated the strategic goals of spatial planning and mobility outlined in the Vision into operational policies. Chapter 3 of the Program Space focused on spatial quality, particularly emphasizing the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage and natural green spaces to contribute to amenity value and quality. Given South Holland's water-rich landscape, the maintenance and management of waterways, along with their integration with cultural heritage, were highlighted priorities. The program aimed to address these challenges and enhance the holistic management of cultural heritage and natural resources in South Holland.
