The Urban Agenda for the EU’s new Partnership on the Digital Transition is accelerating efforts to harness technology for smarter, more resilient urban environments. Officially launched in November 2023, the Partnership brings together local authorities, EU institutions, and key stakeholders to co-create solutions that address critical urban challenges through digital tools.

As part of the European Commission’s support for twin transitions, this initiative aligns closely with the goals of the Transition Pathway for Construction, promoting digital innovation within the built environment. Key focus areas include improved access to data, smart governance, and the use of emerging technologies to enhance urban planning, building design, and infrastructure management.

By fostering collaboration across governance levels and sectors, the Partnership aims to unlock the potential of digitalisation to improve quality of life, boost sustainability, and support the digital transformation of the construction ecosystem.

The outcomes will feed directly into future EU policies and practical actions, ensuring cities remain central to the digital and green transition.
