On 19 June, in Serralunga d’Alba (Piemonte, Italy), the FIEC (European Construction Industry Federation) participated in the annual assembly of the Italian national association of building contractors ANCE (Associazione Nazionale Costruttori Edili) Piemonte & Valle d’Aosta focusing on ‘Solutions for housing needs and urban regeneration.’ High-level representatives – including FIEC President Piero Petrucco, Director General Domenico Campogrande, and VP for Sustainability Paola Malabaila – joined a roundtable with Italian construction leaders.

Key discussions addressed how Italy’s construction sector can remain competitive and sustainable within the European policy landscape. Topics included leveraging EU tools like the Green Deal and funding programmes to support urban regeneration and affordable housing.

In his closing remarks, President Petrucco emphasised the need for structural public investment to secure efficient, affordable housing for vulnerable groups. He stressed the importance of sustainable models and modernisation tools offered by the EU to facilitate the sector’s transition.

This event underscored FIEC’s commitment to strengthening urban regeneration strategies, aligning national action with EU frameworks and securing sector competitiveness through sustainability and innovation-backed funding initiatives.
