On 11-12 February 2025 in Madrid, the Construction Blueprint 2 project officially launched, coordinated by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción (FLC) and supported by FIEC (European Construction Industry Federation), EFBWW (European Federation of Building and Woodworkers), and EBC (European Builders Confederation). Co-funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ programme, this initiative builds on the success of the first Construction Blueprint (2019-2023) to upskill and reskill Europe’s construction workforce, aligned with the green and digital transitions.
Bringing together stakeholders from 10 EU Member States, the kick-off meeting outlined the project's key priorities for the next 4 years. These include developing updated curricula, piloting CVET training actions, creating a 'Skills Observatory', and ensuring long-term impact through policy recommendations and funding strategies.
Blueprint 2 directly supports the Pact for Skills in Construction, aiming to upskill at least 30 % of the workforce annually by 2030. It will foster stronger collaboration between employers, training centres, and public authorities to modernise education, anticipate future skill needs, and enhance the sector's resilience.
By investing in practical and forward-looking training solutions, Construction Blueprint 2 will play a vital role in equipping workers with the skills needed for a sustainable, digital, and competitive construction sector in Europe. Stakeholders are invited to engage and contribute to this strategic initiative.
