The Accelerator Programme of the Affordable Housing Initiative – led by Housing Europe in partnership with EBC (European Builders Confederation), ECTP (European Construction and sustainable built environment Technology Platform), Energy Cities, GNE Finance, and SINTEF and co-funded by the EU – focuses on the creation or renewal of social and affordable neighbourhoods.

Through tailored support, including financial advice, mentorship, and capacity-building, the programme tackles energy poverty, promotes inclusion, ensures affordability, and reduces emissions.

Between 2022 and 2024, the Consortium developed blueprints for a just energy transition centred on affordability and quality of life, supported 22 districts, engaged 13 mentors to assist local renovation actors, created a funding simulator, and organised study visits across Europe.
