As reported by EU Tourism Dashboard, in 2022 EU destinations had an average dependency of 23.2% on their top three international source markets for tourism. Among these destinations, Cyprus (55.1%), Luxembourg (52.1%), Austria (46.7%), and Malta (42.7%) exhibited the highest dependency levels, making them potentially more susceptible to shocks. Conversely, Romania, Sweden, Germany, and a few other countries demonstrated the lowest dependency indicators. To enhance socio-economic resilience, destinations heavily reliant on their top three origins should consider diversifying their markets.
